Welcome to the Cusop Village Website
Located on the very western edge of Herefordshire, the village of Cusop is defined along its western edge by the Dulas Brook which forms the border with Wales. Just a 5 minute walk over that border is the famous market town of Hay-on-Wye which is known, internationally, for its bookshops and for the annual Hay Literature Festival.
Although small, Cusop has a thriving community and is the starting point for some truly stunning walks. For a 'road' walk try Cusop Dingle - along its almost 3 mile length you will be accompanied by the sounds of the Dulas Brook - sometimes the rushing noise of the waterfalls, sometimes the babbling of water running over stones, but always a relaxing background melody. Or, if you fancy something more strenuous, you can cut across the Brook onto the Offa's Dyke Path and walk to Hay Bluff or walk up to the beautiful St Mary's church and tackle Cusop Hill. (For more information on walks around Cusop take a look at the footpaths page.)
To make the most of this website Cusop residents are encouraged to click on ‘community services’ and ‘register’. Perhaps the biggest advantage of registering is that you will get email notification of when parish council meetings are due to consider planning applications. This is now the only way of finding out when applications have been submitted as Hereford council no longer notifies neighbouring properties. You will also hear about news items, including upcoming events at the Village Hall. And you will have have access to the notice board where you can post messages, get responses or place small ads for items wanted/available.
N.B. THE ONLY INFORMATION YOU NEED TO PROVIDE TO REGISTER IS YOUR NAME, ADDRESS AND EMAIL ADDRESS. ALL OTHER FIELDS ARE OPTIONAL AND YOU CAN CHOOSE TO HIDE YOUR DETAILS IN THE DIRECTORY IF YOU WISH.
If you are involved in a community activity you can have your own section on this website enabling you to include information about your activity/group and publish your own news, photos, events & documents.
Why not have your own web page as part of Cusop.net to advertise your business or have a link to your existing website? Click on ‘traders’ and ‘apply for a listing’ for further information.
