Energy improvements for off-gas homes

Starting this year, a £7 million government scheme will pay for efficiency improvements to hundreds of off-grid homes in Herefordshire that are hard to heat.

The Home Upgrade Grant scheme is provided exclusively by Herefordshire Council, in partnership with energy charity, Severn Wye.

Are you eligible?

You can apply for free energy efficiency improvements through the scheme if:

• You live in Herefordshire
• You don't have mains gas heating to your home
• Your total household income is under £31,000 per year
• You live in an inefficient property, with an Energy Performance Certificate of D, E, F or G

What kind of improvements?

Home energy experts will carefully survey your property and design the most effective set of improvements, to make the biggest difference to the efficiency, comfort and cost of powering your home.

Some homes will benefit most from maximising insulation and draughtproofing. Some will also get state-of-the-art heating systems.

Many households will be offered more than one upgrade from a wide range of energy-saving technologies, and receive fully-funded home improvements worth tens of thousands of pounds.
